Benzie Area Trail Report – 12/29

4 to 5′ in most areas of packy snow.
Reports are a few sleds have been out. Be careful, we are in need of help removing trees that fell in the heavy winds. There are many large water holes as well. If you are out let us know of any bad areas. We have a work day at 9am Saturday. If you can help before let us know which section.
Groomers won’t be out until we get more snow.

Benzie Visitor Bureau – 12/29

Hi all! Well, I have better news than I have had yet this season but not GREAT news. Good news is at least it is looking white out there! Our area saw about 3-5′ of sleet, snow, and ice yesterday and last night. It is a thick heavy snow, slippery and packed hard! Nad news is that unfortunately it’s not enough snow to get the groomers out yet, BUT it is a start! SO _ NOW we really gotta do the snow dance and say your prayers for more more more snow! By the way if you wanna help out, this Saturday (Jan 2)is a ‘TRAIL WORK DAY’ with the Benzie Manistee Snowbirds. 9am at the Clubhouse in Kaleva. After all the high winds and ice of late there are MANY trees down everywhere so help is needed to clear the trails! If you can’t make it Saturday let Jeff know, since maybe they can run through a section this week. Call or text 517-740-1726. So – let’s hope the season is beginning soon! C’mon Mother Nature – bring it on! SHOUT OUT of THANKS to my friends Cincinnati Steve & FedEx Lloyd for the emails and pics! LOVE IT! So, till I can say CYA on the trails – take care! Carol B

Benzie Area Trail Report – 02/27

Steven Cameron posted this earlier today!

I inspected over a hundred miles of snowmobile trails in Manistee County today and I would have to say they are probably in the best shape so far this year. The groomers were out and traffic picked up as the day went on and I expect it to get really busy this weekend. With that said the trails will get tore up pretty quick, earlier in the morning is the best opportunity to have flat trails and they will get worse as the day goes on.

Benzie Visitor Bureau – 02/27

Hi all! TGIF! Snow snow snow! YAY! We have gotten lots of snow in the last week, and the groomers are out, so the short and sweet of it is that the trails are looking great! We’ve had a couple days of that super cold again but its supposed to warm a bit tomorrow to about 20 so it’ll be a great weekend for riding! Woohooh! Get out and ride baby! Please watch out for the groomers, stay outta their way and give them a thumbs up as they pass by! The weekends see heavier traffic so take care and watch out for the other guy! Remember when you are out over the weekend, that the Benzie Manistee Snowbirds Clubhouse has an OPEN HOUSE every Saturday thru February! Stop in at 14121 Industrial Drive in Kaleva. Fun conversation, free warm-up coffee or hot-coco & a snack provided by the club! A big Shout Out to my friend FedEx Lloyd for the pics and email! LOVE it! So till next time gas em’ up and ride! SEEYA on the trails! Carol
