Petoskey Snowmobile Club – 01/13
Here it is, finally something good to report, last night into this morning we got 5 to 7 inches of snow dropped on us and is still coming down lightly. If you go for a ride, watch out for rocks, logs, branches or other hidden objects under this fresh powder also keep an eye out for our BIG RED PISTEN BULLY GROOMER, we run day and night so be careful out there and have fun.

Here it is, finally some snow to talk about. The big storm that hit some of Northern Michigan only dropped a couple inches in our area, while areas to our south, Gaylord, Elmira, Mancelona Lakes of the North, you get the idea. From what I heard on the news last night Jordan Valley received enough snow to get out and start grooming, hopefully we`ll be there soon too. Keep checking in, as info comes in I`ll keep you posted.

IT SNOWED!!!!!!!!!! Do not really know how much because the strong winds blew it all over the place. The Piston Bully in Mancelona is heading out this morning for its first run of the year with a reported 5 to 15 inches of snow in that area. The JVTC has a new Dubie winged groomer this year that will be used on the Jordan Valley Trail and up to Charlevoix. This gives us two good drags and one that is well worn and waiting for replacement that we will do our best to keep together for the season. For everybody familiar with seeing the big Cat Challenger grooming through the Valley for the past 12 years it will not be seen this year. The Cat had a machanical failure so we have a John Deere tractor with Soucy tracks to use for this year and hopefully there will be enough money next year to replace the Cat with a new machine, Think Snow.
