Winter’s back! Yesterday’s snow advisory turned into a full-on Winter Storm Warning by day’s end. The snow just kept coming down-and heavy too. We ended up with 10-11′ of new snow and plenty of blowing/drifting. Schools near and far are closed today and there’s snow everywhere. The banks are back to enormous so proceed with caution at road crossings. The guys groomed both the woods and the railroad last night. There are at least 2-3 inches of fresh snow on top of the groom so conditions are amazing. It’s only about 14 degrees outside so bundle up. The sun is starting to peek out but we’ll be lucky to get to 19 according to the forecast. More snow is expected Thursday and Friday plus temps in the upper 20’s. Conditions will be improving in the next 24 hours–trails are currently icy and crunchy in spots. It started with a cool-off that kept us under freezing all night. Even now we are at 28 degrees and are not forecasted to see over 30 anytime soon. It wasn’t cold enough to groom last night but that is also about to change. Light flurries are falling and the radar shows a storm moving in. We’re under a Winter Weather Advisory from 4 pm today through tomorrow afternoon. We’ll be looking at up to 6′ of fresh snow plus blowing and drifting. Winter’s back!!!
