Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 01/05

Ray’s Retreat – January 5
Today’s Trail. Old Man Winter is so darn stingy with his cold and snow. Don’t know who he’s saving it for. .. but am hoping he’ll reconsider and give us a good blast of the cold and snow that will stick around for the rest of winter.

Riders have had good rides for the past two days. There’s been alot of traffic on the trails. Everyone is so eager to enjoy winters stingy snow. There hasn’t been meltdown, but its just worn down from riders. Trail 7 out front here is looking good, and a husband/wife that just came in from their ride today said it was good most of the way heading west. They went over to Jordan Valley. They report Lakes of the North was rough. Jordan Valley was decent.
I can tell you that trail 7 closer to Gaylord is very snirty and in the valley along north Otsego the trail itself is brown. Riders are riding up along the sides to get the snow.
There is lots of snow on the two tracks, woods and fields if you know your way around and are comfortable getting off trail. (of course not on private land)
We reached 32 degrees today.
I do not know what the trails will look like or the weather into the future. I am sorry, I just don’t have those abilities – sure wish we did – I could travel around as a psychic. Maybe make some real money.

Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 01/03

Good News! We have snow, and Gaylord is grooming! We have between 8 to 11 inches of new snow from the storm Sun/Mon. They did their first run of grooming last night, and we just saw the groomer go by right now.
We had a group of riders just return from a ride to Starvation Lake. They reported a good ride. A few bumps but overall good riding. Jordan River has also been grooming.
Its finally here and everyone is eager to get out and enjoy the snow.
We look forward to seeing you soon. We are located directly on trail 7. Enjoy being able to park your snowmobile outside your room, and being on the trail within a minute after getting on your sled. Give us a call to make your reservation 989-732-2703 or 989-732-4914.
