Two days in a row I have been able to get out and ride. This afternoon we took trail 7 north to Gaylord. There are sections along this stretch that is snirty, with open dirt too. Overall there was snow more often than not. We crossed Old 27 by Extreme Power Sports and took the north and south loop. This started out really good. Had a ball riding along the power lines but the further south we got the more dirt areas.
This 54 mile ride was 3/4 snow covered with a good 1/4 of it just dirt. It was a red sunset tonight, which means a clear sunny day tomorrow. ‘red sky at night, sailors delight’….
Weather forecast is not promising .. with a warm up at the end of the week and the dreaded very foul word – Rain.
We’ll keep you up to date, and lets all get to chanting, dancing, praying, envisioning… whatever it takes to get us snow!!!!

Finally got out on the trails myself. I was very surprised – we had a good fun ride!!
We jumped onto trail 4 just up from the motel. This trail was in GOOD shape. It
was smooth riding for most of it – a few corners and narrow areas of chatter bumps.
Plenty of snow. Roller coaster hills on Mancelona Rd had plenty of snow. I was also surprised that the trail that is directly along Mancelona Rd also has plenty of snow
covering it – although that section had some bumps.
It was just such good fun to get out and ride. For most of our ride it was great
riding.
Trail 7 is beat up. It runs directly along Old 27 and catches all the salt and dirt
blown onto the trail. Along with the fact that it gets more riders on it. It is down to dirt in several places, but you can skirt around and catch snow in those areas too.
We need snow, but for what we have I was surprised at the good ride we enjoyed.
