Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 02/21

The trail is not looking so good. At least the sunshine is behind clouds right now. Trail 7 is a mess… lots of waterholes, down to dirt/mud. Ice along other sections. We desperately need snow. It is in the forecast, but will it be enough?

The DNR was active yesterday along the railroad tracks. Several of our guests received tickets. A reminder: you will get ticketed for riding 10 feet within the railroad. They don’t care if you never knew that this is a law, and they don’t care that it was the only spot with ridable snow. Also remember you can only cross the railroad at designated areas, or that will get you a ticket also. Hey, the state has to make money anyway they can. I know they were making money yesterday. Many received a ticket.

Lets all concentrate hard! SNOW.

Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 02/19

Trail conditions vary greatly and will be deterioting more today as we have temps in the low 30 and sunshine in the forecast. Trail 7 is not looking good. Very dirty, especially closer to the road and closer to town. Down thru Waters muddy areas.
Saying that…….you can also find good riding. Riders are in the dining room now and they said they still managed a good ride yesterday. They rode on down and enjoyed the Cranberry Trail. Others said the north/south loop were still good riding. Most likely getting off heavily trafficed areas, trails out in the open or run along major roadways are not the best areas.

If you want to ride, you’ll be able to find areas where you can enjoy it but you’ll have to take the bad with the good.
