Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 01/02

There is approx. 6 inches of snow out there. The trail is covered in white. HOWEVER, it is a light fluffy snow.

There have been sledders (I’m rather surprised at seeing more than I expected) so in many areas there is dirt, leaves and grass showing. The trail is rough. You can visibility see from the road all the dips and holes.

Last weekend when we had a day of rain and 40s there were ATV’s rip roaring on the trail so I know that right along here there are some deep ruts.

Grooming will not begin until there is at least 8 to 12 inches of snow. The forecast is looking promising. Will keep you updated.

Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 12/31

It’s a bitter cold winter night to welcome in the new year. Hope everyone is warm and safely having fun. We saw some sleds today out on the trail. Thinking they just couldn’t bear having their sleds sit inside the garage.
We have picked up between 2-4 inches of snow. Its looking more like snowmobiling season. Hopefully we’ll be seeing lake effect clouds that come over us and stay awhile.
Our hope for the new year is to see snow! Snow for the rest of this riding season so we can see all of you. Sooner or later — it will happen. Happy New Year!
