Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 01/11

I am hoping that the gentlemen that called this morning to inquire about the trail conditions will see this report. I told him wrong. I said it was not worth a trip up because of the freezing drizzle.

WRONG. We just had a couple stop in for directions. They had rode over from Starvation Lake on their sleds thru Lakes of the North. They said the trails were amazingly good! All had been groomed last night and it is flat smooth.

Had one of our guests just stop in and he’s driven trail 7 up to Gaylord and then down to Grayling and reports the same — Good smooth riding.

The couple said on their 35 mile ride here from Starvation Lake they only saw one rider! … First impressions are deceiving —- it is supposed to be turning colder and changing over to snow.

Sounding good to me

Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 01/08

Now is the time to head north to ride the trails when it is not overrun with all the holiday riders. Mon and Tues the trails were deserted. Seemed really weird. The bitter cold temps and windchills along with nasty driving conditions just kept everyone away.

This will be a great time to get out to enjoy the trails. We got a few inches of fresh snow yesterday. Trails are looking good.

We have had two cancellations for this weekend so if you are looking for a place to stay that is directly on the trail give us a call. Enjoy a hot breakfast (included in room price) and enjoy snowmobiling hospitality at its best when you stay at Rays Retreat.
