Good News! … The trails are much improved. I knew they would be. The groomer was out late last night and is back on routine grooming schedule. The trails looked so smooth. According to our guests they not only looked smooth they were smooth riding.
The trail that runs along the roadway is dirty looking. It is snirt – the snow/dirt combination that comes from a trail so close to the road, as well as crossing so many roads and drives. It is still snow you are riding on.
Once you get on the trails back off the roadways everything is much cleaner looking. The riding is good.
Snow is also in the forecast for 2 – 4 inches starting late tonight. That will freshen those trails up.
We’d love to have you stay with us while you enjoy Northern Michigan’s trails. We have one bed rooms for just $55.00/night (tax and breakfast included). Two bed rooms are $65.00 and $75.00 (again tax and breakfast included).

Happy New Year! Finally, today we had the chance to get out for a ride. It’s a bit quiet today after a hectec week of nonstop no vacancy. After breakfast we eagerly headed out to get the sleds out.
There were very few riders also today. Guess everyone is home recuperating from their celebrations last night.
We were disappointed once we got on the trail. Trail 7 directly along Old 27 out front here was very rough. Bump after bump. No chance to rest and enjoy it at all. Our intention had been to take 7 up into Gaylord, then over to the North/South Loop and onto Lovells/Lewistown. We have had several riders report that was a good ride over there. We decided we did not want to endure trail 7 anymore than what we really had to. We’re just getting too old to tolerant that jostling. It takes the fun out of it. So..
We turned onto trail 4. Which was better. Still some rough spots but not the constant jarring.
We enjoyed 40 miles of fun riding. We did most of it along the roads. Cameron Bridge Road, Deward Road and the roads/trails between. Still very pretty thru the countryside and woods. That heavy snow still several inches thick on the trees.
The groomers have worked hard this week. I think they probably just took the day off to enjoy the holiday like most of us.
