Here at the resort we saw 6-8″ of fresh snow yesterday on top of the 4-6″ base. Our guests are reporting trails to be very good-excellent. They rode from here to Grand Marais, Pinestump and Paradise.
Those that are checking out today have requested to leave their trucks/trailers for the afternoon so they can ride today and another group just stopped in to add Sunday night.
Weather reports are looking positive with a lake effect warning through Monday AM calling for “6-12 or more inches” today through Sunday night.

So, I am impatient. I’ve been checking the local groomer reports and nothing is posted yet. Granted, it’s not 11am yet… Here is what I do know:
TASA groomed trail #9 last night and Grand Marais and Paradise groomed their trails heading in/out of town. We had a group of 10 guys take off from the resort last night at 7ish (they had talked of taking trail 9 to Pine Stump) and they did not return until after 11pm. The same group is up and riding this morning and they are planning on staying again tonight. Our other groups arrived last night and are off riding at this time. Sounds like good news to me. I have not directly spoken to anyone but I will update you when I do.
****In the meantime, we have a winter weather advisory through tonight calling for lake effect up to 3-6". Tomorrow we’re under a "lake effect watch" for another 6-12++".***
