WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Through this evening: A line of heavy snow showers marches south across the UP along a cold front.
Hazards: A quick hitting 1-2” of snow is expected along this front. Gusty winds will create very low visibility in the heaviest showers. GRAND MARAIS AREA UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. >> We have been grooming trails every night. We keep.getting some snow, and there has been a lot of traffic. The high winds have some drifts crossing trails throughout our trail system. Some thin spots on 89 along the lakeshore otherwise the sledders are saying the trails are in great shape. Ride safe.

SENEY AREA UPDATE via Mater's Stop -N- Go Gas Station >> Last night we did 431 to 9 then did 24 miles of 440. On way out it was little mogul-ie-ish, but on the way home wow. Was so beautiful smooth ribbons. Nine hours was the total last night. So beautiful! #seney #newberry #snowphotos
SENEY AREA UPDATE via Seney Snowmobile Association >> We hope everyone had a great weekend of riding. If anyone is coming up this weekend and you’ll have an hour to spare. We sure could use some help cleaning out the red barn and setting up tables and chairs. for the groomers ball. If you can help we will be meeting between 9 and 9:30. If we get enough hands we’ll be done by 11 so you can still get a ride in on Saturday.

CURTIS AREA UPDATE via Curtis Area Trail Association >> Doug groomed the Newberry trail loop last night, East 43, 457, 43 Helmer Spur and 45.
The recent fresh snow Groomed up well, with smooth straight aways and flat corners .
For the last 2 days we have sent a maintenance crew down on trail 2, focused on the Rail Road grade coming into Naubinway from the east and also removing a large tree from the trail just west of 117 in Engadine. #curtisarea #newberry #snowphotos

This will bring a brief period of heavy snow and low visibilities with blowing and drifting snow leading to a period of hazardous driving conditions. 20 degrees this morning and snowing. I picked up another 4-5" here at my place in the last 24 hrs. Just in case your wondering, we have close to 3' on the ground around here. Here`s whats been going on with the trails......
The traffic has been VERY heavy this weekend. We ran all the trails Friday and Saturday and will run them all again today/tonight. They are all in great shape....snow wise....but do take a beating with the heavy traffic. One thing to remember on the Falls trail #45....stay on the trail! If you ride off the trail in the swampy sections you will sink in the mud. We sunk a groomer a bit in the mud by just gettin off a touch and broke thru the ice and had to call for help to tow it out of the mud! Once we get everything groomed up today/tonight we will take the day off tomorrow and take 2 machines into the swamp south of town and work on that. We are REALLY trying to get that section open to get the traffic off of M-123 coming into town from the south.
So there you have it. Trails are in GREAT shape!!!! Come on UP!!!

Mike groomed the Newberry loop trails, including trails 43, east of Curtis, 457, Helmer spur 43 and 45 to 4 corners (trail 9 intersection).
