MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA >> 03/05
Just a quick update for yah.
Last night and this morning we saw rain.
Today around mid day it switched over to snow. Wet heavy snow.
It is a wet slushy mess. Tonight the temps are staying below freezing until Sunday.
We plan to get the groomers back out tomorrow when conditions permit.
We don’t want to go out and destroy what we have for base.
This weekend should be pretty good. Plenty of base out there and low traffic.
Hearing varying amounts of snow in the area.
We will have to wait and see what we end up with.
Pictured – that is slush that has been sliding off of the roof. It is just starting to get a crust on it. Sorry for the lack of decent pictures. Hunkered down at home. Roads are a nightmare.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> A wintry mix of freezing drizzle and snow/sleet is expected. Warming temperatures into this evening will change the wintry mix into rain by this evening. Widespread strong southeast gusts to 25 to 35 mph are expected into tonight. Gusts of 40 to 45 mph are possible on the Keweenaw and the eastern sections of the U.P. Yesterday was rain and ice most of the day! Today is wet snow/wintery mix and we've probably got about 3" inches on the ground although, hard to tell because it packs right down. It is snowing really good right now (see videos in the comments). Ice storm warning us in effect until 8pm tonight. Trail 8 is pictured off of H15. If you made it up for the weekend, hopefully you're riding today! There is still enough snow to ride up here! #munising #snowphotos
