MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County Sorva – 1/11
TRAIL REPORT – Tuesday, January 11, 2022 COLD BUT GREAT TRAIL CONDITIONS!
We received another 2 to 4 inches of new snow with bitter cold temperatures hanging around. The trail system is now in an overall very good condition, and good in towns and near roadways. Groomer Operators were pleased to have something substantial to work with and getting very good results last night. Dress for the cold, ride safe, stay right and enjoy! Keep doing the Cold Weather Snow Dancing and Stay Tuned for updates!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Winter Weather Advisories continue tonight over the east as snowfall ramps up for the evening hours. An additional 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected over the east, primarily north of M-28. Expect the transition to pure lake-effect tonight, with the lake-effect machine continuing through the rest of this week into this weekend.

The first polar front will sweep through the Midwest on Thanksgiving day bringing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below average. Lows below zero are expected for some across the north and in the single digits down to I80. Highs this weekend will only be in the single digits and teens for areas down to I80. Dangerous wind chills of -20 degrees or colder are increasingly likely, especially north of I90. The graphic below shows the temperatures on Sunday morning.
Another polar front will move through next week bringing even colder temperatures.
