Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 03/06

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports​ – W❄️W! Just W❄️W! Glenn Rowe with another masterpiece! Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula’s Groomer Operators working hard to provide some beautiful ribbon trails!

Conditions as of March 6, 2019

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are in good to very good condition. The groomers are out, so please watch for them. They have the right of way.

Trail 120 and 121 that goes around Freda is closed for the season, as well as Trail 3 from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden. You can still get to Dollar Bay by way of Hancock and to Lake Linden by way of Calumet. Trail 133 is closed for the season for logging.

Please stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely. The signs on the trails are there for rider’s safety so please DO NOT remove or destroy them.

Snowfall & Weather:

Snowfall in the Keweenaw Peninsula: .5 inches of new snow with 53 inches of snow on the ground, 240 inches have fallen to date as of 3/6/2019.

Today’s forecast: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of snow, high 15, low 0

Thursday’s forecast: Mostly sunny with a 10% chance of snow, high 16, low 8

Friday’s forecast: Sunny with a 10% chance of snow, high 23, low 10

Saturday’s forecast: Cloudy with a 10% chance of snow, high 30, low 21

Sunday’s forecast: Cloudy with a 90% chance of snow, high 27, low 20

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 03/02

Conditions as of March 1, 2019

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are in good condition. A few trails still need some work, but they should be done by the end of today. The groomers are out please watch for them. They have the right of way.

ON MARCH 1, 2 AND 3, THE COPPERDOG SLEDDOG RACE WILL BE TAKING PLACE ON SELECT SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN THE KEWEENAW. TRAILS WILL NOT BE CLOSED FOR THE RACE, SO WE ASK THAT YOU TRAVEL WITH EXTRA CAUTION IN AREAS WHERE THE RACE IS GOING ON.
