Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 04/01

Although there is still a lot of snow, snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are officially closed and grooming has ended for the season.

Houghton County has received 186.25 inches of snow for the season and has 33 inches on the ground. Keweenaw County has received 296.5 inches of snow for the season and has 50 inches on the ground.

Keweenaw Trails Services thanks everyone who helped with our winter recreation program and we look forward to opening the trails again on December 1st.

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 03/25

The snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open. The groomers are out and the trails are in very good condition. Remember to watch out for the groomers when you’re out on the trails, they have the right of way!!

Trail 122 from Lake Linden to Gay is closed for logging. Gay can be accessed on Trail 124 or Trail 133 out of the Lac La Belle area.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, please, drive safely. The signs on the snowmobile trails are there for the riders’ safety. Please, DO NOT remove or destroy these signs.

Please be aware that if you snowmobile on U.S. Coast Guard property you could face federal trespass charges.
