Good morning!
Groomer Mike H. reporting:
Trail 3 south from Twin Lakes to Mass City groomed up very nicely last night with moderate snowmobile traffic.
Groomer Jim reporting on Trail 13 from Greenland to Rockland yesterday.
The trail groomed up nicely considering the conditions (meaning thin snow). The wet spots are now filled in. Watch for rocks on the Rockland end.

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western UP Trail Reports >> Things got bad the closer I got to Mass City. I made it to the Fire Steel bridges and turned around. Just not looking good at all that way. After this weekend it’s going to get ugly quick if they’re right about the warm up.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> A much cloudier day over the UP compared to yesterday! Light snow showers have been observed today with only a half inch so far at the office here in Negaunee Township. Despite the light nature of the snow, it has been efficient at reducing visibility, with below 1 mile visibility being reported at some locations this morning, so take caution while traveling today! #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Scattered lake effect snow showers will develop across western into north central Upper Michigan today. Snow accumulations today will be an inch or less, except 1 to 2 inches in the high terrain of Baraga and Marquette counties. The snow showers will diminish later tonight. Attention then turns to a widespread system snow that will develop from west to east across Upper Michigan later Saturday afternoon and evening. The snow will continue Saturday night, then diminish during Sunday morning. Snow accumulations across Upper Michigan by late Sunday morning should range from 2 to 5 inches. W🤩W! What a week it has been! Definitely the busiest weekday riding we have EVER seen! SO many sleds! Every other rider and employees at businesses along the trail that we talked to, said the same thing!
Ben Anderson and crew, from Minnesota, were up riding this week and shared these photos with us.
Ben said, “Another great trip to Michigan...trails were great in the morning and trashed by evening...never seen this many people here riding during the week but groomers still did a damn fine job!”

Please keep in mind we are seeing 100s of sleds on our grooming runs in the middle of the night - this gives very little time for things to set up. Give the guys a wave if you see them out!

Let Toivola around 10 this morning and trail 3 was already showing those nasty moguls. Trail 13 from Greenland to trail 137 was rough but it's been over 24hrs since the last groom. Trail 137 was was and flat with maybe 2 little ripples. Trail 3 back north is getting ugly quick. There's a lot of traffic for a Thursday.
