KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 01/13
More is still coming! Would say 8 inches so far but the terrain across the Keweenaw varies greatly! The drifts are quite impressive 😳 @current measurement from Casey Hargrave up in Copper City is 16 inches!
Crazy reports coming in from Marquette area of over 2 Feet already and still under warning!
Next week should be great in most areas across the Upper Peninsula! Keep doing those snow dances and IF you are attempting to travel today, please be safe! Treacherous travel conditions s were reported in many areas yesterday/last night!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Snowmobile Club – 01/13
Things are finally starting to look up! We received between 4-8” of snow across the system last night and more predicted today.
We’ll be making our first runs starting tomorrow (Sunday the 14th) to get the system opened.
Expect early season riding conditions – trees down, obstacles, washouts, water, rocks, stumps you may not normally see.
We’ll be coordinating with the City of Houghton for placing the mat and snow on the Portage Lake Lift Bridge early next week depending on snowfall this weekend.
We will provide an update on exact timing soon, until then you will not be able to cross without trailering.

Pretty much every trail was groomed last night so get out and enjoy the western UP today. If you're on trail 3 in Twin Lakes stop in the Parkview Lodge & Grill were you'll find Stretch starting at 1:00. Your trip to tha UP won't be complete without some Western UP Trail Reports swag.
Don't forget to get Groomer Tracker so you can see what trails are groomed.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Snow will spread across Upper Michigan late this afternoon and evening with occasional snow then continuing through tonight. The snow will diminish from west to east on Sunday. By late Sunday morning, expect 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation, but locally up to around 5 inches of snow is possible on the Keweenaw. As a result, plan on slippery road conditions tonight into Sunday morning. W🤩W! What a week it has been! Definitely the busiest weekday riding we have EVER seen! SO many sleds! Every other rider and employees at businesses along the trail that we talked to, said the same thing!
Ben Anderson and crew, from Minnesota, were up riding this week and shared these photos with us.
Ben said, “Another great trip to Michigan...trails were great in the morning and trashed by evening...never seen this many people here riding during the week but groomers still did a damn fine job!”

Please keep in mind we are seeing 100s of sleds on our grooming runs in the middle of the night - this gives very little time for things to set up. Give the guys a wave if you see them out!

Let Toivola around 10 this morning and trail 3 was already showing those nasty moguls. Trail 13 from Greenland to trail 137 was rough but it's been over 24hrs since the last groom. Trail 137 was was and flat with maybe 2 little ripples. Trail 3 back north is getting ugly quick. There's a lot of traffic for a Thursday.
