KEWEENAW PENINSULA AREA UPDATE via The U.P. Superior Snowmobile Club – 01/09
Yes, folks, we will be out packing Trail 3 north/south, out of Twin Lakes and Trail 12 in Greenland to Rousseau Bar today. With about 5 inches of snow and cooler temps we thought that we would give it a go!
Richard’s report and picks are on Trail 3 north. He says that it is packing well!

No big snows in the forecast but it looks to be cold and a bit of snow everyday on the extended
Looks to be about almost 6” or so on the ground and still snowing

Pretty much every trail was groomed last night so get out and enjoy the western UP today. If you're on trail 3 in Twin Lakes stop in the Parkview Lodge & Grill were you'll find Stretch starting at 1:00. Your trip to tha UP won't be complete without some Western UP Trail Reports swag.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Snow will spread across Upper Michigan late this afternoon and evening with occasional snow then continuing through tonight. The snow will diminish from west to east on Sunday. By late Sunday morning, expect 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation, but locally up to around 5 inches of snow is possible on the Keweenaw. As a result, plan on slippery road conditions tonight into Sunday morning. Light snow showers have been observed today with only a half inch so far at the office here in Negaunee Township. W🤩W! What a week it has been! Definitely the busiest weekday riding we have EVER seen! SO many sleds! Every other rider and employees at businesses along the trail that we talked to, said the same thing!
Ben Anderson and crew, from Minnesota, were up riding this week and shared these photos with us.
Ben said, “Another great trip to Michigan...trails were great in the morning and trashed by evening...never seen this many people here riding during the week but groomers still did a damn fine job!”

Please keep in mind we are seeing 100s of sleds on our grooming runs in the middle of the night - this gives very little time for things to set up. Give the guys a wave if you see them out!
