KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Snowmobile Club – 3/29
We will be closing gates as planned on Saturday April 1st. Our club does not have land owner permissions in place for many sections of trail past March 31st. Please ride we caution as spring conditions are present across our system, many swamp areas have begun to open up. Ride with caution and ride safe!

Update: Regarding the DNR extension.
Our club will Not be grooming beyond Friday March 31st. We have have not received permission from our land owners for this additional period. Sorry for the confusion.

Good snowy morning everyone! Trail 3 from Toivola to Mass City was groomed last night! Groomer Brad reporting, Trail 3 is in very good condition! We received about 3 inches of fresh snow in Mass City, and 3 inches in Twin Lakes, with more in the forecast. As of today, Trail 3 from Toivola to Mass City is the only trail that will be groomed in our system, due to low areas with running water, prone to break throughs with the weight of our equipment. From all reports our trails are in good condition, flat, with some bare and wet areas. Please be mindful that these are spring riding conditions that can change very rapidly. Enjoy the final days of riding of the season! 🙂

Pretty much every trail was groomed last night so get out and enjoy the western UP today. If you're on trail 3 in Twin Lakes stop in the Parkview Lodge & Grill were you'll find Stretch starting at 1:00. Your trip to tha UP won't be complete without some Western UP Trail Reports swag.
Don't forget to get Groomer Tracker so you can see what trails are groomed.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Snow will spread across Upper Michigan late this afternoon and evening with occasional snow then continuing through tonight. The snow will diminish from west to east on Sunday. By late Sunday morning, expect 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation, but locally up to around 5 inches of snow is possible on the Keweenaw. As a result, plan on slippery road conditions tonight into Sunday morning. Light snow showers have been observed today with only a half inch so far at the office here in Negaunee Township. Attention then turns to a widespread system snow that will develop from west to east across Upper Michigan later Saturday afternoon and evening. The snow will continue Saturday night, then diminish during Sunday morning. Snow accumulations across Upper Michigan by late Sunday morning should range from 2 to 5 inches. W🤩W! What a week it has been! Definitely the busiest weekday riding we have EVER seen! SO many sleds! Every other rider and employees at businesses along the trail that we talked to, said the same thing!
Ben Anderson and crew, from Minnesota, were up riding this week and shared these photos with us.
Ben said, “Another great trip to Michigan...trails were great in the morning and trashed by evening...never seen this many people here riding during the week but groomers still did a damn fine job!”
Groomers were out last night smoothing the trails back out! Please download the Groomer Tracker app and subscribe to the club(s) where you ride! This will provide you with up to the moment grooming operations!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Snowmobile Club >> Our trails took a BEATING today with the warm up, we have a full team headed out to hit everything and get it flattened back out for everyone. Please keep in mind we are seeing 100s of sleds on our grooming runs in the middle of the night - this gives very little time for things to set up. Give the guys a wave if you see them out!
