KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via The U.P. Superior Snowmobile Club – 2/18
All of our trails were groomed last night. Due to the snow conditions and problems with a couple of groomers, the results were not what we had hoped for. The moguls still exist in some areas, along with hard packed/icy surfaces. We rode the trail system yesterday and had a good time. We found it to be very rideable. Hopefully we get some new snow this week. It sure would help our groomers navigate those icy hills!

These pics were taken on Trail 13 East. It was a late night for groomer Jon, and his rescuer Kurt. They got the job done without any bodily and/or equipment damage! Thanks guys, you rock!!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Ongoing snow this morning will taper off from west to east through the early afternoon. Our attention then turns to a system traversing the Midwest early Monday, bringing snowfall to the southern UP. Pretty much every trail was groomed last night so get out and enjoy the western UP today. If you're on trail 3 in Twin Lakes stop in the Parkview Lodge & Grill were you'll find Stretch starting at 1:00. Your trip to tha UP won't be complete without some Western UP Trail Reports swag.
Don't forget to get Groomer Tracker so you can see what trails are groomed.

The snow will diminish from west to east on Sunday. By late Sunday morning, expect 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation, but locally up to around 5 inches of snow is possible on the Keweenaw. As a result, plan on slippery road conditions tonight into Sunday morning. After a heavy day of traffic, our first team member is headed out to knock down some moguls and get those trails flat for everyone. We’ve heard of several close calls today alone, please slow down and use some caution. We want you to make a return visit! Ride right, safe and sober!

Light snow showers have been observed today with only a half inch so far at the office here in Negaunee Township.
