KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 2/08
It was a beautiful bluebird sky day today in the Keweenaw!
Definitely felt like spring riding…… just a little too early in the season for that stuff!! At about 3pm today when we looked at the temp, it was 48 degrees 🤦🏼♀️. Thankfully the temps started dropping after that and by about 9pm we fell below freezing again! 👏
Jeremy R. Horner shared these photos of their day riding the Keweenaw and said, “We had a wonderful buffet breakfast at The Mariner North that we talked about all day. Great stick to your bones meal! We headed out to High Rock and had no issues! We had a great stop at the Gay Bar in Gay also! The trails held up until 20 miles north of Calumet at about 5pm.”

Many riders have seen the sun set on top of Brockway Mountain…..  how many of you have seen a sunrise?  Waking up early and riding to see the sunrise should be on everyone’s bucket list at least once.
This 80ish mile, one way trip was well worth it for this morning’s Copper Harbor sunrise….. even if playing hooky from work, may or may not have been involved 😂🤷♀️
Flat as a pancake from Toivola to Copper Harbor! Get out there and ride!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Moderate to heavy snow at times moves into the southern sections of the U.P. late tonight and continues into Monday morning. Hazardous travel conditions are expected for the Monday morning commute! The heaviest snowfall is expected over Menominee County. Lesser snowfall amounts are forecast for the north half of the U.P. and the Keweenaw should remain dry. Gusty westerly winds remain possible over the Keweenaw tonight. Pretty much every trail was groomed last night so get out and enjoy the western UP today. If you're on trail 3 in Twin Lakes stop in the Parkview Lodge & Grill were you'll find Stretch starting at 1:00. Your trip to tha UP won't be complete without some Western UP Trail Reports swag.
Don't forget to get Groomer Tracker so you can see what trails are groomed.

After a heavy day of traffic, our first team member is headed out to knock down some moguls and get those trails flat for everyone. We’ve heard of several close calls today alone, please slow down and use some caution. We want you to make a return visit! Ride right, safe and sober!
