TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club – 12/01
It’s opening day! Unfortunately the winds have not been in our favor. Our area has only received about 3 inches of snow. We just had a storm warning posted this morning for 6-12 inches by Monday morning. Our fingers are crossed. We’ll keep you updated.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> After the warm temperatures and melting snow yesterday...temperatures dropped to below freezing last night. This has lead to icy spots on roadways and/or black ice formation early this morning. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> After the warm temperatures and melting snow during the day today (Thursday)...temperatures will drop off rapidly after sunset. This will lead to any wetness re-freezing on area roadways, which could lead to icy roadways and/or black ice formation tonight through Friday morning. Back roads, which became slushy today will refreeze as well, leading to complicated driving conditions. Too bad that color is 40-50 inches, not 50-75 lol and its 1-2 ft not 3-4 ft
This supposed to be current snow depth? I’m 7 miles south of pine stump and we’ve gotten well over 2 foot in the last 48 hours alone. There’s way more than 50” out there. Way more than 75 even.
