Traverse City Area Trail Report – 01/21

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Ranch Rudolf >> 01/21

Even the banks of the Boardman River are frozen and ice chunks are floating down stream-truly don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. Currently -18 degrees in the valley. But no wind and beautiful blue sky- honestly a beautiful day ☀ ❄

Horses and livestock are doing amazing! Thankful for all hands on deck because it sure is a process to check and do all necessary chores and preparations throughout the day and the night to ensure everyone is staying warm and happy ❤

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> After the warm temperatures and melting snow during the day today (Thursday)...temperatures will drop off rapidly after sunset. This will lead to any wetness re-freezing on area roadways, which could lead to icy roadways and/or black ice formation tonight through Friday morning. Back roads, which became slushy today will refreeze as well, leading to complicated driving conditions. Finally, sidewalks and parking lots could also become hazardous to navigate. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyAfter the warm temperatures and melting snow during the day today (Thursday)...temperatures will drop off rapidly after sunset. Too bad that color is 40-50 inches, not 50-75 lol and its 1-2 ft not 3-4 ft

This supposed to be current snow depth? I’m 7 miles south of pine stump and we’ve gotten well over 2 foot in the last 48 hours alone. There’s way more than 50” out there. Way more than 75 even.

Traverse City Area Trail Report – 01/19

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> 01/19

Just rolling the snow!!! Groomer Mark and groomer Jeff got back out on the trails last night. Both reported that the trails have good areas and thin/snirty areas. Overall they rated them as good. Hopefully, we can get some lake effect with this cold weather. Keep doing those snow dances. Remember, Ride Right, Ride Safe, Ride Sober.
