St. Ignace Trail Report – 02/06

Sunday, February 6 update:

It was a very busy weekend all over the EUP. We only picked up 2 maybe 3 inches of new snow last night in the Straits Area but the weather guessers are predicting a decent storm mid-week. All of our trails were groomed Friday night, Saturday night and again today/tonight. Our trails are still in good condition, mostly flat and firm. Even with some thin spots from the high traffic and brief 40 degree weather last week, everything is still very rideable.

Enjoy, Ride Right and Ride Safe!

St. Ignace Trail Report – 01/31

January 31st update:
We know everyone is eager to get trail updates and we are trying to share updates more frequently. While we work out the kinks rest assured that we will certainly provide a timely update if and when trail conditions change. If you don’t see a recent update on our trails, it is safe to assume that the trail conditions reported in our most recent update remain mostly the same.

Our entire system was groomed last Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Despite a lot of traffic over the weekend all of our trails were and remain in good shape. Sunday morning we noticed a significant main engine oil leak in one of our tractors, so it has been taken out of service until we can determine how serious the problem is and what needs to be done to fix it. As a result, we only had two groomers out Sunday night and weren’t able to groom the whole system. Nevertheless, while there are still some thin spots, particularly toward the south end of our system, all of our trails are still mostly flat and firm. Notably, the railroad grade into and out of St. Ignace, which has not received a lot of snow this winter, is holding up very well and folks shouldn’t have any trouble getting in and out of Iggy.

Until we get our third tractor back in service will be double-shifting runs each night in order to cover all of our trails. All of our trails will be groomed tonight ((Monday). We will likely take Tuesday night off for maintenance due to the anticipated brief warm up, but will be back at it Wednesday night and each night through the weekend.

Please ride safe and ride right
