STRAITS AREA UPDATE via Straits Area Snowmobile Club – 01/13
Monday JAnuary 13th
We received 4-6 inches in our area. It looks more like winter. As of now we still do not have enough snow to groom. Chances of snow this week and cold for the most part so it won’t be long. We will update as soon as the groomers are moving. Thank you

STRAITS AREA UPDATE via Straits Area Snowmobile Club >> Thursday January 30th.
Trail update
Everything is being groomed on a as needed basis. We are mostly flat and in good shape. The only issue to note is we do not have a big base on the rail road grade from Moran to St ignace. It is currently passable with a few thin spots and might get worse as the weekend gets busy. Our next snow chance comes on Saturday night. Overall you can expect a good ride in our area. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Isolated light lake effect snow showers are possible Friday and Friday night, however better chances for widespread wet snow holds off until late in the day on Saturday. Widespread 3" to 5" inches of wet snow is possible from Saturday night through Sunday. Slippery road conditions are possible on Sunday morning. WEATHER UPDATE via Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> There will be some melting before the weekend, but, if you are heading north the current snowpack is looking decent for many winter sport areas! Too bad that color is 40-50 inches, not 50-75 lol and its 1-2 ft not 3-4 ft
This supposed to be current snow depth? I’m 7 miles south of pine stump and we’ve gotten well over 2 foot in the last 48 hours alone. There’s way more than 50” out there. Way more than 75 even.
