St. Ignace Trail Report – 12/17
We have over a foot of snow, but almost everything is lake effect type, which will pack down to how much?
The groomers are on the prowl today.

Rained last week to melt most of what we had on the ground, but that may have been a good thing. It put some moisture in the ground, and then it got cold and the ground started to freeze – we need the frost to help the trail hold up and get the snow to stick down.
Last night was a surprise 6’+ but mostly lake effect and it will pack down to nothing. Don’t think we have enough to start panning just yet since it is all lake effect. I will check with my trail reporters to see what it is like in the outer system.
Weather looks like continued cold with a little snow here and there. It may be time to get this season off to a start!
