In a holding pattern. No groomer runs scheduled until this coming weekend for sure. Trails are holding now, but will not stand any traffic, as the weather is once again not cooperating. Temps yesterday of 35d, predicted all week, possibly rain Friday & Saturday, flurries on Sunday.
This will be good for the trees, but bad for the trails. We’ve been running on one storm all season – we need another one.
Have faith, we still have 2/3 of the season left. The groomers will flatten what we have just before it freezes, and then we will go from there. Looks like we will finally have an ice base by this time next week.
Take this weekend to do your mid-season sled maintains, take your pop cans back, and get rested up for the mid-season push.

Just a quick update here… Iggy got a little snow yesterday, around 2′ in Moran, and Cut River areas, Trout Lake around 3′. Not a lot, but enough to whiten up the snow banks. Conditions have not changed since 1-02, so that update is below. What has changed is the forecast.
A slight warm up is expected through the weekend, then a bit more on Monday. This is going to take a toll on the trails if we get heavy traffic. They should hold up through the weekend, but next week is going to be touch and go on the South end, the North end should be OK.
Grooming is very touchy right now, we have to be very careful to wreck what base we have, so limited runs are the way to go. I will update if things deteriorate faster then expected, but right now we should be in for a good weekend.
