Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/16

January 16, 2016 – 10 degrees this morning and a light snow falling. We got a couple inches yesterday and about 3 more last night. We are under a winter weather advisory right now thru Monday. Depending on where you look ‘they’ are calling for close to a foot of snow for the next couple days……YEAAAAA!!!

First thing I want to post is give a HUGE kudos to groomers Mike and Don. They spent all day yesterday on Trail #45 to the Falls and got it in good enough shape to open it up.

Now, there are a couple of small wet spots to watch out for and they had to scrape alot of snow from the trail to fill the holes but they got it open!!!!! If we get this snow ‘they’ are calling for we will take a drag thru there tomorrow and get `er in good shape.

Groomer Don is going south today and see what he can do with that section. Groomer Gerald is heading to Pine Stump and Groomer Woody is runnin` the Point trail.

I`m keeping all trails at ‘fair’ for now but if we get this foot or so I`m sure that rating will go UP.

Keep checking back, I`m sure I`ll have more good news for ya`s as the week progresses. Better start calling your favorite lodging places, We will start gettin busy. Keep in mind the businesses that help out the groomer operations listed on this page below.

Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/15

JANUARY 15 UPDATE: Both Paradise Night Riders and the TASA Trail Groomers have made it through to the Tahquamenon Falls Brewery and Pub two hours ago. Both gates are now OPEN!!!! We’ve been patiently waiting for the right conditions in order to groom these trails

January 14, 2016

8 degrees this morning and it looks like we got another 3-4 inches of snow last night!!! It is snowing right now also.

Talked to Groomer Mike last night after he and Gerald went through the south swamp yesterday. He said they got it fairly patched up but still kept the gates closed. You could get through there on a sled but you`ll come out the other side wet and muddy. Just decided to keep the gates closed for saftey.

Today we are going to go out to the barn and just clean up and thaw the groomers out. They are packed with ice and mud from all the mud runnin we have been doing. Tomorrow we will go into the Falls trail again and see if we can get it opened up. Kinda doubt it but gotta try.

If you want to come UP and ride this holiday weekend I don`t see why not. You will just have to stay on higher ground. It looks like next week will remain cold and snowy so we should have everything ready to go for next weekend. Keep checking back, I`ll keep you up to date.

Groomer Chris
