GOOD MONDAY MORNING….:) its 10:00am on a cold March 4th, 2013 morning… overnight temps again in the single digits (7 degrees). and through-out the upper pennisula..

TRail #8 in duck lake fire region …close to the FAMOUS rainbow lodge

***Weather ….. bringing single digit night temps and day time temps in the 20s. for this week……this weekend will warm up into the 30s for FRI_SAT_SUN…Then SNOW…..late sunday ‘SYSTEM-SNOW’ is predicted …YAY….not much great weather left !!!!

TRAIL REPORT….. STLL!!!!!! all trails in excellent condition A-+
as daytime solar-radiant heat softens the snow and groomers and single digit nights harden up the groomed snows….trails have been awsome.. not often we have perfect conditions for grooming…

Hazards…None reported….But i noticed lots of drifting in the Duck Lake Fire region of trail #8…trail was covered drifts in the 28,000 acres of the fire zone…
Picture is on last evening.. TRail #8 in duck lake fire region …close to the FAMOUS rainbow lodge….carnage seen from would be hill climbers sleds …pieces of windshield, mirrors , old belts, chewed up logs and stumps….all signs of errant snow machines leaving the trail… drifting snows will hide most of this in 24hrs time…
Have fun and be careful…
