Grand Marais Trail Report – 01/16

A quick update – it’s SNOWING – and I do mean SNOWING!

We are under an advisory calling for ‘Storm Total Accumulations Of 8 To 12 Inches Are Possible With The Greatest Amounts Near Lake Superior East Of Munising… From Shingleton To Grand Marais And Pine Stump Junction. ‘

On top of the 5 to 8 inches on the ground, we will be back in action for the weekend!! Woo Woo!!

Grand Marais Trail Report – 01/14

The latest storm delivered a little more than 5 inches in the snowbelt according to a weather spotter, less here in town as is typical of lake effect.

The weatherman says we could see another 1 to 3 today and they are calling for snow off and on the rest of the week. I drove to some of the trail heads yesterday and the base appears to have held up in some spots so this snow will definitely help us get back in business. We’ll pretty much have to start over on the town trail and the southern most parts of the trail system which were hardest hit by the thaw. For now, I would suggest you trailer out to the trail heads if you plan on riding this week.
