Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 01/04
LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 01/04
Your Saturday evening Bergland Area Grooming report for January 4th 2025.. Holy wow!!! The amount of snowmobile traffic today!! You weekend warriors rock! We’ll kinda do a good bad and ugly type post. First and foremost a Huge shout-out to Steve and The Tree Wrangler for taking care of numerous tree’s in a tighter section of our system we call the corridor.(Basically a feeder trail to all of our trail head’s) Thank you so much guy’s! Next is the temp’s. When we got in tonight it was hovering around 5°and 7°, perfect but it’s really locked trails in tight. The long range looks to remain cold so that’s a plus. Tonight 102 and 1n were groomed. We also had a machine run up 13n without a drag to move whatever snow around he could and knock down berms. It might not be the prettiest but we’re trying to stay ahead of everything freezing in and impossible to work with. Now we’ll switch to the bad. There’s not much in the way of new snow in the forecast. The snow is thin and we need a good system dumper. I guess the ugly is next. We only have 1.5 trails that are groomable. 102 and 1n. And we say 1.5 because 102 from Bergland to about half way up towards South Boundary Rd. Is thin and not doing our drags any justice. That being said, as of now, most likely Grooming will stop until we receive more snow. Long winded but a lot to report. Stay positive, it’s still rideable we just need more snow to groom. ❄️❄️❄️

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 01/04
Good evening/morning? Bergland Area checking in. Plans changed a little do to a ice incident going up hill. So we decided against covering 13n to Rockland. Anybody that knows our section of 13n knows there’s some pretty good rollers and we didn’t want to take any chances. So tonight 1n, 1s and 102 were groomed. All actually in much better shape than anticipated.
The lake effect snow we’ve received was actually making moisture when circulated from blade to drag and set up tight! It’s cold, so that definitely helped. Swamp’s remain frozen you’ll find thin and icy spots and some perfect spots. The tree in the pictures is being addressed in the morning. We have a couple guy’s coming in to remove this monstrosity from the corridor that sooner rather than later will end up damaging one of our machines.
All pictures are of 102. That’s your Saturday evening update. ❄️❄️❄️
