LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Lake Gogebic Motel and Lake Gogebic Sled & SxS Rental – 01/03
Our friends have arrived back home from their adventure today from Bergland up to Calumet and back with a trail report 🤩
Trails were good from Bergland to the Mosquito Inn. Started to get a bit thin near Houghton/Calumet area. Trail 8 (railroad grade) to 13N going East out of Bergland was a little choppy and thin, but once you hit the woods it was good riding!
Trails are only going to improve when the groomers hit them up tonight! 🥳🕺💃🏼❄️

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 01/03
Happy Friday everyone. We are currently sitting at a chilly 12° with on again off again snow showers. We did receive around 6″ of new snow overnight and we will be sending 2 machines out tonight to see if it’s enough to work with. As of now 13n 102 and 1n will be the only trails covered until we get a better idea what the conditions are. We’ll update with pictures and what we find out from the groomers when they get back in tonight. ❄️❄️❄️

Bergland area received about 5 inches of powder last night, definitely can use some more. It is still coming down as we speak. 🌨 Trails are still a bit slick, so ride with caution. Let’s keep getting some more lake effect through this weekend! ☃

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> A much cloudier day over the UP compared to yesterday! Light snow showers have been observed today with only a half inch so far at the office here in Negaunee Township. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Scattered lake effect snow showers will develop across western into north central Upper Michigan today. Snow accumulations today will be an inch or less, except 1 to 2 inches in the high terrain of Baraga and Marquette counties. The snow showers will diminish later tonight. Attention then turns to a widespread system snow that will develop from west to east across Upper Michigan later Saturday afternoon and evening. The snow will continue Saturday night, then diminish during Sunday morning. Snow accumulations across Upper Michigan by late Sunday morning should range from 2 to 5 inches. LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> Bergland Area Groomer's Report for 1-30-25. Temperature's rose to 43° today. Most likely made some thin spots down to snirt but won't effect us. We're still down to one machine until most likely Monday, but at this moment 102 and 1n are being groomed then 13n to 101 and 8w to Wakefield.. ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Scott's Superior Inn and Cabins >> A Ride to Remember with a True Trail Legend
Some rides are just special, and today was one of them. I had the privilege of hitting the trails with none other than Rick, our very own “Trail Boss.” Rick has been riding from our hotel for over 35 years—long before I ever got on a sled myself. In fact, he used to watch me hop on the school bus in the mornings before heading out on his own ride.
Today, we made our way to Victoria Falls, taking in the breathtaking beauty of the trails, the snow-covered trees, and the crisp winter air. There’s no better way to experience the backcountry than with someone who knows these trails like the back of his hand.
Riding with an OG like Rick reminds me why we love this sport—it’s about the adventure, the people, and the places that keep calling us back year after year.

Next is 102 and hopefully 13n again. Multiple driver's have stepped up to relieve the other operators. Sorry, we don't have pictures to share. These guy's are running hard!! We're doing our best.
