LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> 01/25
Early morning report for Bergland Area Groomer’s Friday 1/24/25. We’re doing our best. We smooth them up. They mogul out by afternoon and freeze in tight. 1n to White Pine (I’ve never seen so bad). High traffic? It’s being hit every night. 102 wasn’t horrible but still needed attention, it too is being groomed nightly. 8w to Wakefield was horrible and hit tonight. 13n to Rockland wasn’t terrible and is also groomed nightly.
Yes we groom every night and yes snow conditions have improved significantly! But high traffic will detoriate trails quickly. ❄️❄️❄️

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> Bergland Area Groomer's Report for 1-30-25. Temperature's rose to 43° today. Most likely made some thin spots down to snirt but won't effect us. We're still down to one machine until most likely Monday, but at this moment 102 and 1n are being groomed then 13n to 101 and 8w to Wakefield.. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Isolated light lake effect snow showers are possible Friday and Friday night, however better chances for widespread wet snow holds off until late in the day on Saturday. Widespread 3" to 5" inches of wet snow is possible from Saturday night through Sunday. Slippery road conditions are possible on Sunday morning. ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Scott's Superior Inn and Cabins >> A Ride to Remember with a True Trail Legend
Some rides are just special, and today was one of them. I had the privilege of hitting the trails with none other than Rick, our very own “Trail Boss.” Rick has been riding from our hotel for over 35 years—long before I ever got on a sled myself. In fact, he used to watch me hop on the school bus in the mornings before heading out on his own ride.
Today, we made our way to Victoria Falls, taking in the breathtaking beauty of the trails, the snow-covered trees, and the crisp winter air. There’s no better way to experience the backcountry than with someone who knows these trails like the back of his hand.
Riding with an OG like Rick reminds me why we love this sport—it’s about the adventure, the people, and the places that keep calling us back year after year.

WEATHER UPDATE via Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> There will be some melting before the weekend, but, if you are heading north the current snowpack is looking decent for many winter sport areas! Too bad that color is 40-50 inches, not 50-75 lol and its 1-2 ft not 3-4 ft
This supposed to be current snow depth? I’m 7 miles south of pine stump and we’ve gotten well over 2 foot in the last 48 hours alone. There’s way more than 50” out there. Way more than 75 even.
