Sorry folks. We talked with a few neighboring clubs and we feel the best decision is to not risk it tonight. Please be aware trail 1 from White Pine to Silver City has water hazards reappearing. There’s snow for grooming! Just not temperatures. 33 some odd days left of the season, we are thinking long term!

HOW ARE THE TRAILS?
Well – they are hanging in there, but took a major hit. Images from The U.P. Superior Snowmobile Club trail 3 trestle bridges. Snow is thin on the road to Lake of the clouds. Trails in the ditch and anywhere that had snow-cancer deteriorated significantly yesterday. The forecast of 46 and clouds turned into 52 and sun with wind. Grooming remains paused. We will evaluate the temperature forecast for grooming tonight and we will try to get out there, but TBD. Trails are rated in FAIR condition with POOR areas and EXCELLENT areas. But, the entire system is full of bumps. We are seeing the return of northern Wisconsin riders as their trail systems shutter. We currently have 1 Pistenbully down that we hope to get back online for the weekend. SNOW IS FORECAST ALMOST EVERY DAY. A little shot of snow and our groomer operators can do magic!

Warming temperatures into this evening will change the wintry mix into rain by this evening. Widespread strong southeast gusts to 25 to 35 mph are expected into tonight. Gusts of 40 to 45 mph are possible on the Keweenaw and the eastern sections of the U.P. Power outages caused be the ice storm continue over portions of south-central Upper Michigan and may last through the night.
