LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> Good afternoon! Marenisco crews were out today inspecting the trails in our area. This is the first time crews have been out since the warm weather we received before the New Year. We didn’t get a dump of snow unfortunately but the cold weather has really helped maintain some of the base. At this time, we’ve only been able to get out on Trail 1 between Copps Tower Rd and just south of Marenisco and it has some poor and good areas but rideable. Hopefully we get some more snow soon!! #lakegogebic #westernup ... See MoreSee Less

WATERSMEET - WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club >> I will start by saying Happy New Year, and unfortunately that is about all I have as of now. We have only gotten about 1” of snow as of today and it’s all fluff so nothing to help us get closer to getting out to groom again. I think we still have some base in most areas so when we get some real snow we will be able to get back out there. Thanks for your patience and think snow. #westernup ... See MoreSee Less

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Lake Gogebic Motel and Lake Gogebic Sled & SxS Rental >> Our friends have arrived back home from their adventure today from Bergland up to Calumet and back with a trail report 🤩
Trails were good from Bergland to the Mosquito Inn. Started to get a bit thin near Houghton/Calumet area. Trail 8 (railroad grade) to 13N going East out of Bergland was a little choppy and thin, but once you hit the woods it was good riding!
Trails are only going to improve when the groomers hit them up tonight! 🥳🕺💃🏼❄️ #lakegogebic #westernup #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP >> 🚜🚜TWO groomers heading out tonight! Seems 6-12" is down across the area with more in the higher terrain areas. Trails are VERY ICY, PLEASE SLOW DOWN. Groomers will continue to run this weekend! If things work out we may get all three groomers out cutting bumps tomorrow! Think snow!!
❄️ NCSC Groomer Nick is headed to The Porkies' South Boundary road trail #11 and trail #1 to Lake of the Clouds overlook. The final 1/4 mile up to the overlook parking lot will not be groomed. The final 1/4 mile we are going to give the sleds a day or two to pack in the snow to help keep our tractor from spinning out.
‼️There are open mud/water hazards on trail 1# along the lake to the park.
❄️ TC Troll Joe is headed from Ontonagon to Silver City to start fixing up trail #1 from the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park - the Porkies ski hill back south to the Konteka Black Bear Resort White Pine, Michigan. From there he will work east on trail 12 LP Walsh Road to trail 101, 13, and finally 137 back to the barn...if he can get that far!
Shout out to Groomer Mikey and Wyatt - They did full services to our PistenBully North America machines while they were up here, so we're not missing a beat! Thank you!!!

SIDNAW - BRUCE CROSSING UPDATE via Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club >> Groomer Report;
Trail Condition: See Report Below
Last Groomed: December 23rd, 2024
Reported On: January 03rd, 2025 @ 9:38am
We have a some fresh snow, not enough to get too excited about but we will take it.
The “grade” from Kenton to Ewen is still pretty thin, the far northern areas are better, IE Rockland and north of Sidnaw.
We are going to run a groomer on the east side of our system later today, Friday the 3rd.
Please ride on the RIGHT side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs!
Stay on the trail, if you don’t we could lose trail permissions on private property.
Groomers have the right of way on the trails, pull over and stop to let them safely pass!
We now have the Groomer Trackers installed and working on our groomers.
We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allow. Unforeseen circumstances may prevent us from going out, like a major blizzard and being snowed in at our homes or equipment breakdowns. #westernup ... See MoreSee Less
