ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP >> 1/8/25 TRAIL UPDATE
Josh R from da big city of TULA, MI sent in a video of him grooming a portion of 13 last night for his first solo run! Congrats, Josh!!!!
❄️FRESH SNOW! 1-3" seems to have fallen across the area. SNOW is forecast almost every single day for the next 10! Right now forecast is for minor accumulations, but it makes ALL the difference! Trails are rated fair with poor sections that have water hazards (trail 1 by Porkies, Trail 12 by Hamilton's North Coast Adventures, and trail 12 east of 137) as well as EXCELLENT sections that make you forget about those other spots! We are performing groomer training this week and curtailed our normal grooming efforts to make the snow last. Over processing the snow can cause it to turn into "sugar snow" and no longer set up the way we need it to.
TRAIL 11 SOUTH BOUNDARY ROAD and TRAIL 1 from White Pine to Lake of the Clouds is getting groomed tonight.
TRAIL 12 from White Pine to 101, Trail 13 from 101 to 137 is getting groomed tonight. #ontonagon #westernup #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

SIDNAW - BRUCE CROSSING UPDATE via Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club >> Groomer Report:
Trail Condition: See Report Below
Last Groomed: January 06th, 2025
Reported On: January 07th, 2025 @ 7:16am
We groomed our complete system last night.
The “grade” from Kenton to Ewen is still pretty thin as is trail #3 south from the grade towards Bond Falls.
The northern part of trail #3 is better towards Rockland and trail #174 north of Sidnaw is quite nice.
Please ride on the RIGHT side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs!
Stay on the trail, if you don’t we could lose trail permissions on private property.
Groomers have the right of way on the trails, pull over and stop to let them safely pass!
We now have the Groomer Trackers installed and working on our groomers.
We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allow. Unforeseen circumstances may prevent us from going out, like a major blizzard and being snowed in at our homes or equipment breakdowns. #sidnaw #westernup ... See MoreSee Less

IRONWOOD - WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority - ORV & Snowmobile Club >> This evening, a groomer will be dispatched towards Marenisco, and their report indicates that snowfall becomes increasingly sparse as you approach Marenisco. LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> Marenisco crews out tonight trying to work with what we have. Worked Trail 1 between Marenisco north to Copps Tower Rd. The inside corners of many curves had snow bermed up to the outside exposing ice, dirt, and gravel. Knocked down the berms and rolled them to the inside and packed as best as possible. With the cold tonight it shouldn’t take too long to get everything hardened up. We might get a small bit of lake effect snow tonight/tomorrow which will help but overall, Trail 1 is in fair to good condition with the worst part being Ethelwood Grade which was recently plowed for logging. It’s snow covered but thin with exposed gravel in some areas. Keep doing the snow dances folks, possible system bringing snow later this week into the weekend! #lakegogebic #westernup #snowphotos ... ‼️TRAIL 12 LP WALSH ROAD‼️ has a bad washout at the base of a hill 3 miles east of Konteka Black Bear Resort White Pine, Michigan. We will work to resolve it this week, but please ride slowly!
Trail 1 to Lake of the Clouds unplowed road, from the trail 12 intersection, is thin but rideable with grooming on going. Being a marquee stop on our trails, it is heavily used.
We will update more as we know it, crews will be out all week! Fresh snow has fallen day after day and grooming continues to bring trails back into shape. Overall conditions rated Fair, some excellent stretches, some poor, some mud and water on different sections of trail 12, you get the idea! #ontonagon #westernup ... See MoreSee Less
