Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – 12/28

Groomer Report:

All of our trails have been packed a couple times now, and cleared of trees from the big winds we had on Monday. Overall the trails are Fair to Good. We have quite a bit of snow in the forecast, we hope it actually comes!

If you choose to ride the trails now remember it is early in the season and there will be some wet areas, rocks, gravel and other obstacles that are not completely covered by snow yet.

When I report “base” that is the depth of the un-groomed snow on my yard South of Sidnaw. There is no possible way to accurately report what the depth is under your snowmobile on the groomed trail, it varies widely.

Trail #3 North to Rockland is GOOD.

Trail #8 from Ewen to trail #3 North is FAIR.

Trail #3/8 from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 South intersection is POOR.

Trail #3 South from the railroad grade to the CC road is FAIR.

Trail #8 from the trail #3 South intersection to Trout Creek is FAIR.

Trail #8 from Trout Creek to Kenton is FAIR.

Trail #8 from Kenton to Sidnaw is FAIR.

Trail #8/15 from Sidnaw to the trail #109 intersection is GOOD.

Watch for the groomers, they take up most of the trail and have the right of way!

Please pull over and dim your lights for them, they have a long night out there.

Remember, you can get off the trail, the groomer can not.

Please do not climb the “Military Hill” from the highway to the fence, we have ongoing erosion issues there and the hill climbers are adding to the problem.

Have a fun and safe trip, thank you for riding our trails and visiting our local businesses!

Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club – 03/07

Groomer Report:

Well, the weatherman wasn’t wrong! We had nearly 50 yesterday with lots of sun and wind so the trails have gone down hill fast. There are lots of bare spots, icy corners and wet areas so I am calling FAIR for now but with the forecast I am sure it will be POOR soon and even unrideable in the next day or so. Obviously we are not grooming with these conditions. Keep your fingers crossed for a good St. Patricks Day storm and we may get a little more riding to this season.

The 5th annual hotdog cookout was a great success, we met a lot of great snowmobilers and had a lot of good conversations, we even have two new members. Thank you to all that stopped by!

Use caution when using the RiderX trail maps, they are wrong! Watch the trail signs for the correct routes.
