WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> The wintry mix of heavy wet snow, sleet, freezing rain, and freezing drizzle continues tonight over the U.P. Another glaze of ice is expected over the southern and eastern portions of the U.P. into early Monday morning. The wet dense snow will transition to lighter and fluffy snow tonight. Heavy snow and a wintry mix moves back in, persisting through Sunday before a change over mainly to light snow Sunday night. The heaviest snowfall will be across the western UP, Keweenaw, and the higher terrain of the north-central UP. WEATHER UPDATE via TV6 & FOX UP >> First Alert Weather Days are in effect for Friday through Sunday for the entire U.P. This is due to the likelihood of icy roads developing. We're still on track to get two main rounds of precipitation with the next storm system.
The first round comes tomorrow through Saturday morning with freezing rain/rain/sleet. The second round comes Saturday night into Sunday.
The track of this system still remains unclear for Sunday and snowfall axis. Regardless, we're expecting sloppy roads.
