Indian River Trail Report – 03/24

Friday’s forecast for a big snow didn’t materialize and most people are happy about that. We got some light snow and carried cold temps all through the weekend. Sunshine returned Saturday and stayed through most of Sunday. It’s sunny right now and still very cold. The thermometer was at -2 earlier and I think we’re close to 5 degrees now. Some riders were out this weekend, enjoying the extended winter. The groomers have been running too. Conditions are icy, especially on corners and exposed areas of the trail. Looks like the 20’s will stay with us until late in the week. Snow or not, we’ve only got a week left before the trails close. If you want your last hurrah, better make it quick!

Indian River Trail Report – 03/20

Yesterday’s freezing rain in the morning gave way to wet snow in the late afternoon. We ended up with about 2′ of snow and temps below freezing overnight. Current temps are still under freezing and we might see 32 for a high. It’s cloudy and quiet out there on the trails. Conditions are a mixed bag of good to fair, with ice in some spots and slush in some others. There’s plenty of base left, especially in the woods. Tomorrow will take another bite out of the base if we reach the forecasted high of 45. Until then, have a great day and thanks for checking in!
