Indian River Trail Report – 03/17

Winter showed no signs of retreat this weekend, starting with Friday night. We had a day above freezing but finished with below-freezing temps and about 2′ of heavy snow. The trails were happy to receive the fresh coating.

Riders were out but not in the numbers that they have been. The trails have been groomed and are in great shape. This morning it’s pretty cold at about -9 the last I looked.

We’ve got sunshine and a forecasted high of 32 for today. The next couple days may bring us up over freezing. We’ll groom as long as conditions allow so if you’re still looking for excellent trails to ride look no further!

Base: 11 inches

Snowfall Past 24 hours: 0 inches

Last Grooming: Nightly as temps allow, except for Tuesday (equipment night)

Current Trail Conditions: Good to Excellent

Indian River Trail Report – 03/11

Yesterday was a beautiful, spring-like day around Northern Michigan. The air was warm and thermometers read up around 45. People started popping out of the woodwork but not many were on snowmobiles. The top layer softened up and we were unable to groom last night. As always the wooded trail is more protected than the railroad grade so you won’t see as much loose snow there. We did drop to the high 20’s overnight and are still under freezing as of this update. Today we’ve got sunshine and predictions are for a high of 40. Tomorrow and Thursday it looks like we’ll plunge back into the mid-teens and 20 for highs. There’s plenty of great riding to be had so get out there if you can.

Base: 11 inches

Snowfall Past 24 hours: 0 inches

Last Grooming: Sunday night, 3-9
