Well I just got my fingers thawed out enough to type this report…We’ve got sunshine outside but we’re still at 4 below and it’s almost noon. This morning’s thermometer read -22 and if we’re lucky we could see 14 degrees. All this sun translates to a 0% chance for snow today. Looks like we could see a little light snow and a warm-up to around 20 the next couple days. We did get another 2-3′ of snow over the weekend. Trails are staying flat and smooth thanks to the cold, so it wasn’t necessary to groom the woods last night. We’ll be out grooming the woods tonight and the conditions continue as superior. Riders were out all weekend but today is very quiet. Enjoy the sunshine and please check back tomorrow for the latest on IR trail conditions!

I know it was 36 yesterday and it’s around 31 now, but we have so much snow. I mean a LOT of snow! The temps create a little settling but when your base is over a foot thick it doesn’t impact the trails much (especially in the woods). This is when past daily grooming pays off. Layer over layer is smooth from continuous grooming! So to have a little softening is no problem for our trail conditions. We will have to wait and see what falls from the sky tomorrow. We are not really concerned, because cold temps and some fresh snow are expected to return Friday and remain all weekend. We assume the worst we will have are a few icy areas between Thursday and Friday. Temps are in the low teens at night so the guys will be out grooming every night. Do what you will with this information–hope it helps!
