What in the world??? The snow started falling yesterday afternoon and it just didn’t stop! It was coming down very heavy at times. As you move west even by a couple miles there’s even more snow. Petoskey schools closed today but Inland Lakes is open. This must be lake effect. But it’s heavy lake effect. The wind and cold temperatures make it feel like January out! The only difference is we’re seeing more sun these days. Looks like we’ll be in the upper 20’s the rest of the week. I haven’t heard from the groomers but would imagine they will be out tonight. The current riding conditions could very well be the best we’ve seen all season. There’s no traffic out there–so go and RIDE!!!

Mother Nature is not ready to let go of winter…We had a cold but sunny weekend here-good snowmobiling for those looking to put more miles on the sleds. No change in trail conditions to report either. The groomers were out last night but traffic has been light. Last night we sunk into single-digits for temps so the base stays rock solid. We’re in the high-twenties now and enjoying some sun. Looks like things will change later this afternoon as we’re under a weather advisory. We’re expecting winds to pick up, bringing freezing rain which will change over to snow. Initial accumulations are for 2-4′ through the overnight hours. Lake effect is also forecasted through Thursday, and we will likely stay under 32 all week. Winds are picking up now, so we’ll see what the day brings. Check back in tomorrow for another update on our trail/weather conditions!
