We have about 6-12" of snow on the ground with snow in the forecast for Friday. The GRTA, Lake Gogebic and Watersmeet groomers are all waiting for more snow before they go out. GRTA started to prep the trails then stopped. On the upside, the temps have been in the low teens to the single digits which will help alleviate the wetness problem and firm up the trails. This is super important in getting the trails in shape for the quality riding you expect.
We have snow showers in the forecast for this week so we will keep you apprised. Be patient just a tad longer….it’s still early season so hang in there.

Congratulations to Tammy, Rita, Kevin and Tony for being the lucky winners of the Michigan Trail Permits from the Milwaukee Snowmobile Show.

It’s beginning to look a lot like…winter and Christmas. We have about 7" of snow on the ground with a chance of 2" to 4" today and 1" to 3" tonight. Lake Gogebic area has about the same amounts as the far western end with Watersmeet area having a little less on the ground. The ground is still really wet and needs to firm up. On the upside, the overnight temps in the forecast will be in the low teens to the single digits which will help alleviate the wetness problem.
The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Grooming Club is planning to start prepping tomorrow. Watersmeet will let us know when they can get out, and the Lake Gogebic area will give me a report later on today.
