Looks like we are going to have some nice riding weather for the weekend,so take advantage of the weather and the low traffic. It doesn’t get any better!!! Our Big Snow Country official Season Snowfall to date is now 117.5" with 17" on the ground – 1-3" of new snow is in the forecast for Friday…We will take every little bit we get…
GOGEBIC RANGE TRAIL AUTHORITY reporting trails are in very good riding condition. Grooming is on going…Trails 2-8,11N and 160 are all snow covered and freshly groomed with conditions very good … Corners may be icy so use caution.
Take advantage of the scenic lookouts over looking Lake Superior on trail 160. Signs are posted…Enjoy the beauty this area has to offer.
Trial 11 S is in very good conditon but does have a stretch where they are logging so watch for logging trucks. Logging trucks do have the right of way… Signs are posted.
Lake Gogebic Area groomers are double grooming daily. For the most part all trails are in very good condition,but do expect some places are good. Trail 1 closer to Presque Isle, snow is a bit thinner so expect good to fair conditions in this area. Remember corners may be icy so use caution…
Watersmeet Area groomers are also grooming daily. They are reporting all trails are in good condition. Again corneres are icy.
ABOUT THE ICE:
It’s time for our usual caution. There is no such thing as "safe ice" due to underwater currents. If you plan to go out, be sure you talk to locals where you intend to ride for more information about the ice depth and other factors…be aware you will be riding at your own risk.
