Trail conditions are poor. We need more snow.
Trail 2 from Hurley to Ramsay US 2 Crossing is in poor to fair condition it was last groomed on 1/2/2021
Trail 2 from Ramsay to Wakefield is poor it was last groomed 1/2/2021
Trail 2 from Wakefield to Marensico is poor to fair last groomed 1/3/2021
Trail 8 from Wakefield to Tula Crossing is poor to fair last groomed 12/26/2020
Trail 160 from Walmart to Montreal River (WI) is poor to fair last groomed 12/28/2020
Trail 11S last groomed 1/2/2021
Please yield to any and all logging traffic, they have the right of way.

Gogebic Area Groomers Report 12/29/2020
Groomers have been out. Trail 8 East from Bergland to Ewen has been groomed, Trail 13 North towards Rockland and 13 South has been groomed. Trail 1 from Bergland to White Pine is groomed and 102N and 1 South are being groomed now. There are many wet spots starting to show, but freezing up with the cold temps. We need more snow. 8 West will be broke tomorrow.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> While the snow has been delayed in getting here early this morning, we are still on track to receive generally 3 to 6 inches of mostly wet snowfall across most of Upper Michigan today and tonight. Expect the transition to pure lake-effect tonight, with the lake-effect machine continuing through the rest of this week into this weekend.

WEATHER UPDATE via Midwest Weather >> ~First Polar Front Thanksgiving~
The first polar front will sweep through the Midwest on Thanksgiving day bringing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below average. Lows below zero are expected for some across the north and in the single digits down to I80. Highs this weekend will only be in the single digits and teens for areas down to I80. Dangerous wind chills of -20 degrees or colder are increasingly likely, especially north of I90. The graphic below shows the temperatures on Sunday morning.
Another polar front will move through next week bringing even colder temperatures. FROM Gogebic Area Grooming >> Just to confirm.. We do have enough interest in brushing the access trail this Saturday at 9am Eastern time meeting at the Groomer barn. It's not a long stretch but badly overgrown. Bring boot's as it's usually muddy. If enough people show up and this get's accomplished early our trail 1n to White Pine needs a bunch of signage. So plenty of work for the day. Then on to our next situation. A bridge on 13s or East side of lake Gogebic needs redecked. This trail will not be opened until this bridge is repaired. To say we need help is an understatement. Plans are for bridge repair asap. Repair needs completed before Deer season (Nov. 15th) Rain, snow or shine. It should only take a day but dependent on if we have helper's. The access trail, 1n signage and bridge repair are all accessible by vehicle. Snow totals ranged from little to nothing along the Superior shoreline due to the warm lake temperatures, to 2 feet plus in the higher terrain of Marquette and Baraga Counties.
