CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort – 1/28
β’ Have gotten many comments today from sledders at Coyote who are pleasantly surprised by how decent the trails are; and theyβre glad to be riding! β’ Peteβs Friday trail report: Hello- Rode about 34 miles last night around Coyote, Caberfae and Crossroads. I groomed Coyote trail and "cut-off" trail out to Trail 37. I was mainly doing damage control to repair bad/dangerous ruts that came from wheeled vehicles during the thaw. Groomers will go out once and hit most everything today/tonight. Surprisingly there was a small/hard base still intact in most places.. I was not seeing snirt. Things are certainly not great, but with some smoothing out and the 4-6" we got, things are rideable. Some snow tonight is forecasted along with chance of some Lake Effect. THINK SNOW, Ride Right and Be Safe. Pete

FROM Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> I need to post this image again because WOW. I can't recall the last time nearly all of the United States was forecast to be below average. Before anyone gets on the "SEE CLIMATE CHANGE IS FAKE" train... one of these below average maps DOES NOT negate the other 500 above average ones. Trends, folks. Trends. Nothing is a straight line. The warming temperature trend line is full of peaks and valleys with an overall increasing trend. π #miweather #keweenaw#westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#petoskey#gaylord#cadillac#traversecityI need to post this image again because WOW. As the snow continues to fall… here is Pete’s latest trail report: Hello- Looks like we can at least get back on the trails this weekend. Snowing now and 1-2 expected, with another small snow expected Friday night. I wouldn’t expect grooming anytime real soon, but with the little bit of icy base and this 2-4", there should be enough to keep things lubricated. What a tough year its been so far for sledders and businesses alike! I’m praying this is the start of a real winter pattern for temps and snow. Looking nice right now (3:40 PM) and radar is showing some more. Be prepared for icy conditions in corners and "Ride Right"! Several have probably cancelled for this weekend, but we might still have some "last minute" cabin openings if the skiers haven’t nabbed them up? Call, or check online for availability. THINK SNOW! Pete
