Cadillac Area Trail Report – 01/28

CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort >> 01/28

Latest Trail Conditions

New Snow Last 24 hrs: 4-5″

Base: 2-4”

New Snow last 24 Hrs: 4”

Trail Conditions: Good – Excellent

Due to a non-snowmobiling injury, Pete is not able to ride currently.

We got around 4” of system snow Monday evening! Some nice heavy snow is always good for the trail base.

Today’s report from Julie & Lewis, riding north to Thompsonville was excellent the whole way!

From Jon & Sandy, who rode south to Reed City, Chase, Baldwin and up, they rated things as excellent with one short, choppy section.

Special thanks to Cadillac Winter Promotions and other neighboring grooming clubs. We’re talking to a lot of happy riders! …. Ride right! Julie

Tuesday 2/28th 4pm

Hello- Got 3-4” in last day with some rain/snow mix and then fresh snow on top … there likely will be some spot grooming done, but don’t want to disturb the base too much yet … When dirt gets mixed in with the snow, we lose the rigidity of the ice base. Several people were riding this past weekend, but decent conditions were very localized from Coyote up to Mesick. Check out Coyote webcam for current pictures. Cold temps and some snow are in the forecast… THINK SNOW! Pete

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 1/28/25
11 degrees this morning and a light snow falling. It snowed and blowed really hard here yesterday for a few hrs. then chilled out over night. I think we picked up around 3-4". The LE machine is supposed to kick into high gear today and "they" are saying 3-6" more......we`ll see. I got really good news from yesterday so lets get to it........
Me and Groomer Mike C. took 2 machines sans drags and headed into da swamp south of town. We worked most of the day in there and FINALLY got `er passable!!!! We will let it set today and then pull a drag thru tomorrow. Now, keep in mind, it won`t be perfect but ridable and safe. A couple places will be only one groomer width wide so take it slow in there.....PLEASE!!!
Today we are runnin our entire system (except swamp). All trails are in beautiful shape!!!!! COME ON U.P.!!!!! You are missing out if you don`t!!!!!!
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Through this evening: A line of heavy snow showers marches south across the UP along a cold front.
Hazards: A quick hitting 1-2” of snow is expected along this front. Gusty winds will create very low visibility in the heaviest showers.
