Newberry Trail Report – Visit Newberry – 02/08

WE NEED MORE SNOW!!

Please be careful around corners there is ice under the snow in the curves.

Trail #9 north is in good condition. The base is 8-10 inches and riders are reporting very good riding conditions, We have had more snow in this area and trails are great for riding. Be carful on the straight away between M-123 and 3 mile staging area, mogals form there quick depending on how many sleds go over it. There are some bare spots close to town. The groomer will be out between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00A.M.

Trail #45 North is in very good condition with a 8-10 inch base, but, there are 2 logging areas on it. One north, and one south, of the Skyline Trail Head. It is plowed and can be rough at times. The trail from Co. Rd. 500 to the Falls is in good shape. The groomer will out between 4:00 P.M. and 1:00 A.M.

Trail #9 south to Hemlock Ridge road (trail 2) has up to a 4 inch base and is in fair condition.

Trail #2 From the Naubinway split to Rexton is in fair condition with up to a 3 inch base.

Trail #473 has about 7 miles of plowed road from Rexton south to Epoufette due to logging in the area. Please watch for trucks and deer in the area. The base is marginal to 3 inches and in fair condition.

Trail #473 Rexton to Trout lake is in fair condition with up to a 3 inch base.

Should be an ok weekend for riding! Not super cold, but cold enough, not super snowy but snowy enough at least! Might see some snirty spots or coorners by the end of the days but cold is supposed to stay around and at least a chance of snow in the forecast for a few days coming. And mark your next weekends calendar fir our Winterfest 2010 here in Beulah, February 13th! Its a day packed with fun, food, fireworks, chili cook off, snowmobile poker run and lots more! Then the next weekend is the cool Shiver by the River including Sno Cross in Frankfort, February 19th – 21st! Keep up the snow dance!
