Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/24
FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 02/24
It’s been a quiet friday morning here in downtown Frederic. Its 13 degrees out at 11:30 so thats good, been several sleds in this morning and as reported by riders I would say trails are fair to good. Yesterday afternoon was a different story with misty drizzle in the air and riders coming in covered with ice as it formed on them riding on the trails. There was no new snow overnight.
Weather is calling for isolated snow. Its supposed to stay cold with chance of snow during the night. My thoughts are what we have isnt going to increase so we have to ride what we have. I have seen much worse conditions so if you want to get a ride in you just have to go for it. I did see the grayling groomer on m 72 heading west and I figured they were going to start at the parking lot 3 milees west of grayling.
Also if anyone lost a arctic cat bag I have it here at the shop along with a hard cover polaris bag. Someone brought the Archtic cat bag into me yesterday as they found it on the trail. Also still have another small blue bag that someone brought in. Pic below is from last night with the Obama tour stopped in for their fourth trip north for the season.
I went down to the Frederic Inn and met up with them for some Nachos and stories. Thanks for checking in. Pete
FROM Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> I need to post this image again because WOW. I can't recall the last time nearly all of the United States was forecast to be below average. Before anyone gets on the "SEE CLIMATE CHANGE IS FAKE" train... one of these below average maps DOES NOT negate the other 500 above average ones. Trends, folks. Trends. Nothing is a straight line. The warming temperature trend line is full of peaks and valleys with an overall increasing trend. 🙂 #miweather #keweenaw#westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#petoskey#gaylord#cadillac#traversecityI need to post this image again because WOW. After Thanksgiving, a large portion of the U.S. will likely see below normal temperatures into early December. And of course, there's southern Florida. 🌞
