Traverse City Trail Report – 02/25
TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club – 2/25 We received another 2" of snow last night. Trails should be in good condition. All groomers went out last night. Groomer Jeff with trainee Pete was on the north trail. They rated the trail as good with some thin spots. Groomer Dirk rated the Kalkaska run as good, the best he has seen it all season. Groomer Mark on the Fife Lake run said the trail groomed up very nice. With the forecasted weather Monday, snow/rain/freezing rain you better get out and ride while you can. Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat.
